Sharlene Maria Thuraisingham

Sharlene completed her Bachelors degree in Exercise Science in Toronto, Canada before making the move to Melbourne where she completed her Masters of Physiotherapy Practice (2014). Following her generalist Physiotherapy degree, Sharlene completed her postgraduate studies achieving a Masters of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland.

She has worked across a wide variety of clinical environments, including multi-trauma rehabilitation, sports injury management and orthopaedic, spinal and headache specialist clinics. Outside of private practice, Sharlene consults at the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Specialist Screening Clinics in OAHKS (Osteoarthritis Hip and Knee Service), Spinal Assessment and Rheumatology clinics as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist.

On a personal level, Sharlene’s desire to pursue physiotherapy was spurred from her own experience with various health-related challenges and injury. Her practice is shaped by helping her clients capitalise on their potential for recovery by empowering them to learn about their anatomical makeup, optimise their functional movement and foster long-term independence.
