Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy is a subset of general physiotherapy - this speciality focuses on disorders of the spine and the extremities as it relates to your skeleton, soft tissues and nervous system.
As a dual-qualified Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner, Sharlene’s point of difference is a high proficiency in diagnostic skills, meaning you get a clear explanation for your condition and what you can do to remedy the problem.
Targeted manual therapy and therapeutic exercise are used to support your recovery journey. You’ll receive clear instructions on what you should and shouldn’t do in the interim so that you can get back to doing what matters to you as soon as possible.
This process is tailored to each individual and is evidence informed by behavioural, medical and physical sciences. A professional difference you can trust.
Clinical Pilates
Exercise prescription tailored to the specifics of your injury to help you recover, improve your fitness and maintain your optimal level of functioning.
Clinical exercise is delivered via Pilates reformers, weight training equipment and mat exercises to improve your strength and conditioning at every age and life stage.
Telehealth
In recent years, Telehealth services have taken flight. The key elements of a face to face consultation including thorough history taking, movement analysis and exercise prescription are all achievable quite simply within the constraints of a virtual consult.
If you’re located outside of the local area or are looking for a consultation outside of business hours, this may be a suitable option for you.
If you’re unsure, get in touch via phone or email to find out how a Telehealth consultation can help you.
GLA:D Hip and Knee Program
GLA:D®, or ‘GoodLife with OsteoArthritis: Denmark’ is an exercise and education program developed by researchers in Denmark for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms.
Research from the GLA:D® program in Australia shows patients were able to reduce their pain, decrease their reliance on painkillers and diminish their perceived need for surgery.
If applicable, you’re encouraged to bring in any relevant x-rays to discuss your report and see your images for yourself.
